Our founder's story
"Growing up in a rural village, I witnessed the devastating impact of malaria, including the loss of loved ones. I also suffered from malaria more than ten times during secondary school, including during national examinations. These experiences inspired me to develop a natural mosquito repellent as a school project. That initiative eventually grew into AfyaGuard, which combines locally produced mosquito repellents, community health education, and women's economic empowerment to help build healthier, more resilient communities."
What we delivered in Q3 2026
During Q3 2026, AfyaGuard strengthened its community-based malaria prevention model through several key milestones:
- ✓ Women's training. Trained 35 women from low-income communities in repellent production, marketing, sales, costing, and pricing.
- ✓ Production units. Established two local production units in Mafiga and Chamwino Street, Morogoro.
- ✓ Local manufacturing. Produced 2,000 units of natural mosquito repellents to strengthen community protection capacity.
- ✓ Malaria awareness & empowerment. Built practical skills and equipped women with critical health knowledge.
